Samurai Warriors 3: Xtreme Legends is a standalone expansion to the 2009 hack-and-slash title Samurai Warriors 3, developed by Omega Force and released for the Wii in 2011. The expansion adds two new modes: Original Career, in which players construct custom scenarios by completing missions and spending earned gold to upgrade their character's capabilities, and the returning Challenge mode, which presents three distinct objective-based trials. Characters who lacked dedicated storylines in the base game receive new narrative content here. The expansion also broadens the game's overall scope by introducing additional weapons and items, along with two new difficulty settings — Novice at the accessible end and Hell at the extreme end of the spectrum. Online functionality, absent from the original release, is also incorporated into this expanded version.
