Octo Expansion is a paid single-player downloadable campaign for Splatoon 2, released by Nintendo in 2018 for Nintendo Switch. The expansion centers on Agent 8, an Octoling who wakes with no memory on a darkened subway platform inside a sprawling underground test facility. Across 80 missions, players work to navigate this labyrinthine complex and fight their way to the surface of Inkopolis, alongside returning characters Pearl, Marina, and Cap'n Cuttlefish. The missions introduce challenge types distinct from those found in the base game, broadening the mechanical variety on offer.
