Spyro 2: Season of Flame is a 2002 platform game developed by Digital Eclipse for the Game Boy Advance and a direct sequel to Spyro: Season of Ice. The game returns familiar characters including Hunter and Bianca, while also allowing players to control Sheila the Kangaroo and Agent 9 in addition to Spyro himself. A notable mechanic is Spyro's ability to switch between fire and ice breath, with certain objects in the world responding only to one or the other, adding a layer of puzzle-solving to the platforming. Rather than adopting the third-person perspective of the original PlayStation entries in the series, the GBA installment presents its worlds from an isometric viewpoint, giving it a distinct visual style suited to the handheld format.
The Rhynocs kidnapped the Dragon Realms' fireflies, which resulted in the dragons losing their ability to breathe fire. Spyro goes on a journey to rescue the fireflies.
