Super Princess Peach is a 2005 Nintendo DS platformer developed by Tose that inverts the series' traditional setup: rather than Mario rescuing Peach, Peach takes on the protagonist role after Bowser kidnaps Mario, Luigi, and the Toads of Mushroom Castle. Armed with a magical umbrella, she navigates side-scrolling levels to rescue the captives. The game makes use of the DS hardware and centers Peach's abilities around her umbrella as the primary tool for traversal and combat. As a Nintendo DS exclusive, it represents one of the few mainline Mario-universe titles to feature Peach as the sole playable hero, offering a distinct perspective within the long-running franchise while retaining the accessible, stage-based structure characteristic of the platformer genre.
