Tales of Symphonia: Dawn of the New World

Tales of Symphonia: Dawn of the New World is a role-playing game developed by Namco Tales Studio and released in 2008 for the Wii. Set two years after the events of Tales of Symphonia, it follows new protagonists Emil Castagnier and Marta Lualdi as they investigate why their world has fallen into ruin. Their journey intersects with returning characters from the original game, including Lloyd and Colette, alongside a summon spirit named Ratatosk who claims dominion over all monsters. The game expands on its predecessor's real-time combat with omnidirectional movement, unison attacks, and an elemental alignment system. A central new mechanic allows players to capture over 200 enemy monsters, train and feed them to improve their effectiveness, and evolve them into more powerful forms. These monsters fight alongside human party members, enabling a wide range of customizable team compositions.
