Released in 2002 for PlayStation 2, The Simpsons Skateboarding is a sports game developed by The Code Monkeys in which players skate through locations set across Springfield. A roster of nine playable characters is available, each equipped with more than forty distinct moves. Single-player modes include Freeskate, Skate Fest, Trick Contest, and a skateboard-based game of H-O-R-S-E, while a two-player head-to-head mode allows competitive skate-offs. Progression through these modes unlocks additional characters, locations, and skateboards. The game draws on the Simpsons license to populate both its cast and its environments, with the variety of modes offering different approaches to scoring and competition.
Springfield has been converted into a skate park for the Annual Skate Tour, full of skate-able objects and landmarks from the television series.
