Triple Play 98 is a baseball simulation released in 1997 for PlayStation, developed as part of EA Sports' long-running baseball franchise. The game includes all 30 major league stadiums and rosters for the established teams of the era, though the Arizona Diamondbacks and Tampa Bay Devil Rays — not yet active at the time of release — appear only as logos, with their rosters assembled from a free agent pool. Six gameplay modes are available: exhibition, season, playoffs, home run derby, all-star, and practice. Players can trade athletes or create custom ones, and season play tracks a wide range of statistics. Multiple camera angles offer varied viewing options during matches, and live play-by-play is delivered alongside color commentary from announcers Jim Hughson and Buck Martinez. Saving progress requires between one and five memory card blocks depending on the mode.
