Advance Wars: Dual Strike is a turn-based tactical strategy game developed by Intelligent Systems, released in 2005 for the Nintendo DS and later available on Wii U. It is the third entry in the Advance Wars series — the international branch of the long-running Wars franchise, which originated with Famicom Wars on the Family Computer in 1988 — and the first installment to appear on DS hardware. The game continues the narrative of its predecessors, relocating the conflict to Omega Land, where a revived Black Hole faction, now led by a new commander pursuing immortality through the extraction of the region's energy, threatens the territory. The Allied Nations mount a resistance against this threat, eventually gaining unexpected support from several former Black Hole commanding officers who join the effort to prevent Omega Land's destruction.
