All-Star Baseball 2005 is a baseball simulation developed by Acclaim Studios Austin and released in 2004 for Xbox and PlayStation 2. It serves as the final entry in the long-running All-Star Baseball series, which Acclaim Entertainment had been publishing since 1997, with the franchise ending due to the company's bankruptcy. The game offers several modes of play, including exhibition matches, managing an existing Major League Baseball franchise, or building a custom team from scratch. An expansion feature allows players to place teams in numerous North American cities, as well as Mexico City and Puerto Rico. Like many of its predecessors in the series, the game features Derek Jeter on its cover. All-Star Baseball 2005 represents the conclusion of a series that had grown from its origins as a successor to Frank Thomas Big Hurt Baseball into one of Acclaim's flagship sports titles.
