Crash Nitro Kart is a kart racing game developed by Vicarious Visions and released in 2003 for PlayStation 2, Xbox, and Nintendo GameCube. The game features characters from the Crash Bandicoot series, pitting them against antagonists Neo Cortex and Emperor Velo, who has transported the cast to a distant planet and forced them into a series of races. An Adventure mode follows the story as the characters compete to save Earth, while Arcade mode offers a more immediate racing experience. Multiplayer support accommodates up to four players in battle modes. The GameCube version includes additional connectivity options, and players can upload high scores to an online rankings system.
