Dynasty Warriors 8: Xtreme Legends Complete Edition is a hack-and-slash title developed by Omega Force, released in 2013 for PlayStation 3, PlayStation 4, PlayStation Vita, and PC. An expanded version of Dynasty Warriors 8, it centers on large-scale battlefield combat drawn from the Romance of the Three Kingdoms, in which players command historical warriors to cut through massed enemy forces. A key addition to story mode is a dedicated campaign following Lu Bu, a figure previously unavailable as a protagonist. Beyond that narrative thread, the game introduces new playable characters, additional weapon types, and hypothetical scenarios that reimagine existing battles. Progression systems have been broadened with new growth and speedrun mechanics. The mode structure has also been overhauled: Ambition Mode returns in a revised form, and a brand-new Challenge Mode provides distinct objectives separate from the main campaign, collectively broadening the scope of the base game's content.
