Farabel is a turn-based strategy game developed by Frogames, released in 2016 for Windows, Linux, Mac, and Nintendo Switch. Its central conceit inverts the typical RPG progression: the player begins with a fully powered hero and travels backward through time, losing strength with each step into the past while the tactical challenges grow increasingly demanding. The campaign follows Cendor, lord of Farabel, across 26 battles fought in reverse chronological order to save the city. Beyond the campaign, the game offers four distinct modes — a daily Challenge mode with monthly competitive seasons, a Classic mode where players assemble armies of units and war machines and are scored on speed and low casualties, and a Defence mode pitting a custom army against an endless, unbeatable enemy force. Across all modes, players draw on a roster of 40 unit types and 18 spells and abilities.
