Gears of War: Judgment is a third-person shooter developed by People Can Fly, released in 2013 for Xbox 360. Set as a prequel to the original Gears of War trilogy, the game takes place in the immediate aftermath of Emergence Day, the catastrophic event central to the series' lore. Players follow Kilo Squad, commanded by Damon Baird and Augustus "Cole Train" Cole, as they battle to defend the city of Halvo Bay against an overwhelming enemy force. The narrative is structured around a military tribunal, with squad members recounting their actions during the siege. Alongside its campaign, the game includes multiplayer modes and a separate OverRun mode that introduces asymmetric team-based gameplay. Judgment represents a notable departure from the mainline trilogy by shifting focus to supporting characters and exploring the early days of the Locust war.
