NES Remix 2 is a 2014 Wii U compilation developed by Nintendo EAD Tokyo Software Development Group No.1 that draws on a selection of later NES titles, including Super Mario Bros. 3, Kirby's Adventure, and Metroid. Like its predecessor, the game presents both faithful recreations of original stages with new objectives and modified versions that introduce additional elements, creating short-form challenges across a broad range of genres spanning platforming, action, racing, and more. A notable inclusion is Super Luigi Bros., an unlockable bonus game built around all levels from the original Super Mario Bros. The twist is that Luigi serves as the protagonist and the stages must be traversed from right to left rather than the traditional direction. The mode also incorporates Luigi's characteristically high jump, offering a meaningfully different experience built on familiar level design.
