NHL 15 is a hockey simulation developed by EA Canada, released in 2014 for PlayStation 3, PlayStation 4, Xbox 360, and Xbox One. The game introduced a 12 Player NHL Collision Physics system, extending real-world physics simultaneously to every skater on the ice and producing secondary collisions, net scrambles, and player pileups. Puck behavior was rebuilt from scratch to replicate authentic spins, rolls, and bounces across the ice surface. Player models were reconstructed with three independent layers — body, equipment, and jersey — animated with Dynamic Cloth technology, while facial likeness and emotion were captured using technology derived from EA Sports UFC. The Superstar Skill Stick expanded right-analog control for puck protection, pass reception, and dekes. A new broadcast partnership with NBC Sports brought commentators Mike Emrick and Eddie Olczyk alongside ice-level analyst Ray Ferraro, complemented by NBC-branded presentation graphics. Crowd simulation featured over 9,000 individual spectator models with context-sensitive reactions.
