Persona 4 is a Japanese role-playing game developed by Atlus and released in 2008 for the PlayStation 2, later made available on PlayStation 3. The game blends traditional JRPG combat with visual novel elements, placing the protagonist in Inaba, a small rural Japanese town unsettled by a string of unexplained murders connected to foggy weather conditions. Local rumor holds that a mysterious television channel broadcasts strange images on rainy nights, and this phenomenon sits at the heart of the investigation. Players build relationships with Inaba's residents, and these social bonds directly strengthen the Personas — supernatural abilities drawn from those connections — used in turn-based combat against enemies known as Shadows.
