Pokémon Alpha Sapphire is a role-playing adventure developed by Game Freak and released for the Nintendo 3DS in 2014. A remake of the original Game Boy Advance title, it follows a young trainer journeying across the Hoenn region, capturing and battling Pokémon through the series' traditional turn-based combat system. The central conflict pits the player against Team Aqua, a villainous organization intent on expanding the world's oceans. To achieve this goal, the group seeks to harness the power of the Legendary Pokémon Kyogre. Team Aqua's ambitions mirror those of Team Magma in the counterpart release, Pokémon Omega Ruby, where that faction pursues Groudon in hopes of expanding the landmass instead. The opposing ideologies of these two teams form the narrative backbone of both versions, driving the escalating confrontations that unfold across the main storyline.
