Pokémon Battle Revolution is a turn-based strategy and RPG title developed by Genius Sonority for the Wii, released in 2006. The game centers on Pokémon combat across three distinct modes. Colosseum Battle Mode tasks players with progressing through a series of themed arenas, each governed by its own specific rules and challenges. DS Battle Mode supports two to four players simultaneously, with participants using their Nintendo DS systems as controllers while battles play out on the television screen; this mode requires each player to own a Nintendo DS and a copy of either Pokémon Diamond or Pokémon Pearl. The Wi-Fi Battle Mode connects players online via Nintendo Wi-Fi Connection, enabling matches against friends through Friend Codes as well as ranked battles against trainers worldwide, with a matchmaking system that pairs opponents of comparable skill levels.
