The Isle of Armor is the first expansion included in the Pokémon Sword Expansion Pass, developed by Game Freak and released in 2020 for Nintendo Switch. Set on a new island within the Galar region, the expansion introduces a range of environments previously absent from the main game, including beaches, forests, bogs, caves, and sand dunes. The island hosts a variety of Pokémon living freely across its diverse terrain. Central to the experience is a battle dojo overseen by Mustard, a seasoned Trainer and dojo master who guides players through an intensive training regimen designed to strengthen both trainer and Pokémon. The expansion broadens the base game's role-playing and adventure framework by adding new locations to explore, new Pokémon to encounter, and a focused storyline built around mentorship and combat progression.
