Ridge Racer 3D is an arcade racing game developed by Xeen and released in 2011 for the Nintendo 3DS. As an entry in the long-running Ridge Racer series, it centers on drift-based racing through a variety of environments, with players managing high-speed cornering around tight turns using cars tuned specifically for drifting mechanics. The game takes advantage of the 3DS hardware's stereoscopic 3D display, which adds depth-of-field perception that assists players in gauging distances from rival vehicles during races. Compared to earlier entries in the series, Ridge Racer 3D expands the roster of available machines, broadens customization options, and refines its drift system. The combination of the handheld's 3D capabilities and the series' characteristic fast-paced, momentum-driven racing style positions it as one of the more technically ambitious arcade racers available on the platform at launch.
