Ridge Racer 7 is a racing game developed by Namco Bandai Games and released in 2006 as a PlayStation 3 launch title and the seventh mainline console entry in the long-running Ridge Racer series. The game offers a roster of approximately 40 cars, many carried over from Ridge Racer 6 and the PSP entries in the franchise, alongside 22 circuits playable in forward, reverse, and mirror configurations. It runs at 1080p resolution and 60 frames per second, with Dolby Digital 5.1 surround sound support. Online multiplayer is available at no additional cost through the PlayStation Network. The game includes a full-motion video opening featuring series regular Reiko Nagase. A 2010 patch added stereoscopic 3D support. Ridge Racer 7 has also seen re-release under Sony's budget "Platinum" and "The Best" labels.
