X-Men: Destiny is an action role-playing game developed by Silicon Knights and published by Activision in 2011 for PlayStation 3, Xbox 360, Wii, and Nintendo DS. Set within the X-Men universe, the game features a story written by Mike Carey, known for his work on the X-Men: Legacy comic series. Players navigate a world populated by familiar Marvel mutants, making choices that shape their character's allegiances and abilities in the ongoing conflict between humans and mutants. The title blends hack-and-slash combat with RPG progression elements. Following the expiration of Activision's Marvel license, the game was removed from digital storefronts on January 1, 2014. Physical copies were also recalled and destroyed as a result of separate legal disputes between developer Silicon Knights and Epic Games concerning the use of Unreal Engine 3 code, making the game difficult to obtain.
