X2: Wolverine's Revenge is a third-person hack-and-slash adventure developed by GenePool Software and released in 2003 for PlayStation 2, Xbox, Nintendo GameCube, PC, and Mac. Players control Wolverine as he fights through military compounds, facing armored soldiers, mutant creatures, and notable adversaries including Sabretooth, Magneto, Wendigo, Lady Deathstrike, and Juggernaut. Although Professor X provides occasional telepathic support, the bulk of the challenge falls on Wolverine himself. Gameplay draws on the character's signature abilities: a heightened sense of smell and heat detection allow players to track enemies and navigate environments, while stealth and problem-solving are required to bypass defense systems, evade guards, and access locked areas containing critical information.
