Developed by Monster Games and released in 2015, Xenoblade Chronicles 3D is a port of the original Wii role-playing game, adapted for the New Nintendo 3DS. The game retains the full adventure of its source material while taking advantage of the handheld hardware with stereoscopic 3D visuals and a dual-screen layout that places maps and character statistics on the lower display. An additional bonus mode, separate from the main campaign, allows players to examine detailed 3D models of the game's characters and browse the soundtrack. Notably, the title is exclusive to the New Nintendo 3DS, distinguishing it from the standard 3DS hardware. The port preserves the large-scale world exploration and real-time combat of the original RPG while introducing presentation features tailored to the capabilities of the newer handheld platform.
