Mana Khemia: Alchemists of Al-Revis is a role-playing game developed by Gust, released in 2007 for PlayStation 2 and later PlayStation Portable. It serves as the ninth entry in the core Atelier series and the first of two Mana Khemia titles. The story centers on Vayne Aurelius, the son of a renowned but missing alchemist named Theofratus, who has lived in isolation with only a cat-formed Mana called Sulpher as company. When a professor named Zeppel invites him to Al-Revis Academy, Vayne is drawn into a student workshop overseen by the self-styled defender of justice, Flay Gunnar. The group gradually expands to include a clumsy but skilled alchemist, an impulsive beastgirl, a ghost, a child swordsmaster, a reluctant alchemist from a prestigious family, and an alien. Together, the workshop tackles assignments and develops their alchemical craft throughout the academic setting.
