Mario & Luigi: Superstar Saga is a role-playing adventure game developed by AlphaDream, released in 2003 for the Game Boy Advance and later available on Wii U. The story begins when an evil witch steals Princess Peach's voice and replaces it with explosives, sending Mario and Luigi on a rescue mission that leads them to form an uneasy alliance with their longtime enemy Bowser. Gameplay centers on the brothers learning new abilities and combining their powers to execute cooperative tag-team attacks against enemies as they progress toward the witch's castle. Outside of combat, players navigate a colorful, cartoon-styled world and participate in minigames including Border Jump and Mystery Carts. The presentation draws on humor and lighthearted character writing, and the soundtrack incorporates music familiar from earlier entries in the Mario series.
