NHL 09 is a sports simulation title developed by EA Canada and released in 2008 for PlayStation 3, Xbox 360, PlayStation 2, and PC. It is the 17th entry in EA Sports' long-running NHL series and carries notable distinction as the final installment in the franchise to appear on PlayStation 2 and the last to receive a PC release. Versions planned for Nintendo DS and Wii were ultimately cancelled before release.
