The Champions' Ballad is the second downloadable content pack for The Legend of Zelda: Breath of the Wild, released in 2017 for Nintendo Switch and Wii U as part of the Expansion Pass. This action-RPG expansion centers on a new trial in which Link wields the One-Hit Obliterator, a weapon that defeats enemies in a single blow but leaves him highly vulnerable, to clear encampments and unlock new shrines before tackling a large dungeon. Completing these challenges rewards the Master Cycle Zero. A separate questline follows Kass, a travelling bard working to finish a song his mentor left incomplete; its resolution reveals previously unknown events from the Champions' and Princess Zelda's pasts. The pack also introduces nine collectible armor pieces referencing earlier Zelda titles, plus the Ancient Bridle and Ancient Saddle, two pieces of horse gear with distinct functional properties, all hidden in treasure chests throughout Hyrule.
