Yo-kai Watch 3 is a role-playing adventure developed by LEVEL-5, released in 2018 for the Nintendo 3DS. This international version consolidates all content from the three original Japanese releases into a single package. Players follow two parallel storylines centered on investigating mysterious supernatural sightings, encountering more than 600 distinct Yo-kai along the way. Combat is built around a new 3x3 grid-based battle system, which introduces a positional layer to the series' familiar mechanics, allowing players to strategically position their Yo-kai to land attacks or avoid incoming ones. The expanded roster and dual narrative structure give the game considerable breadth compared to its predecessors, while the grid system adds tactical decision-making that distinguishes it within the franchise. As the international release, it represents the most complete version of the third mainline entry in the Yo-kai Watch series.
Nate and his family move to St. Peanutsburg, in a fictitious country called BBQ, after his dad got transferred there due to work. Meanwhile, in Springdale, Hailey Anne mets USApyon and gets a yokai watch, and the 2 form a detective agency.
