FIFA Soccer 08 is a football simulation developed by EA Canada and published under the EA Sports label, released in September 2007 in Europe, Australia, and Asia, and October 2007 in North America. The PlayStation 3 and Xbox 360 versions run on an updated engine that EA designated "next-generation," delivering improved graphics compared to the older engine used on PC and other platforms. Commentary on those console versions is provided by Sky Sports' Martin Tyler and Andy Gray, while ITV's Clive Tyldesley partners Gray on current-generation hardware and PC. The game's theme song is "Sketches (20 Something Life)" by La Rocca. Notably, the 2007 release marked the first FIFA entry to drop Nintendo GameCube support since FIFA 2001 and the first to exclude the original Xbox and Game Boy Advance since FIFA Football 2002, reflecting a shift toward contemporary hardware across the series.
