Guitar Hero: Smash Hits is a music rhythm game developed by Beenox and released in 2009 for PlayStation 2, PlayStation 3, Wii, and Xbox 360. The game compiles a selection of tracks from the first four mainline Guitar Hero titles — Guitar Hero, Guitar Hero II, Guitar Hero: Rock the 80's, and Guitar Hero III: Legends of Rock — and adapts them for full-band play. Unlike their original appearances, all songs are presented as master recordings and support guitar, bass, drums, and vocals simultaneously. The setlist spans a range of rock artists, including Nirvana, Queen, Judas Priest, Slayer, and Rage Against the Machine, among others. The game was released under the alternate title Guitar Hero Greatest Hits in Europe and Australia.
