Guitar Hero: Warriors of Rock is a music rhythm game developed by Vicarious Visions and released in 2010 for PlayStation 3, Xbox 360, Wii, and PlayStation 2. The sixth mainline entry in the Guitar Hero series, it ships with more than 90 licensed tracks spanning heavy metal and classic rock, featuring artists such as Black Sabbath, Megadeth, Slipknot, Anthrax, Queen, KISS, Def Leppard, Soundgarden, Dire Straits, and The Rolling Stones. The central Quest mode casts players through a metal-themed fantasy narrative in which eight characters, each with distinct special abilities, must complete rock performance challenges and ultimately fight to determine the fate of the Demigod of Rock. Outside of Quest, a Quickplay option grants immediate access to character powers, while Party Play and other returning modes support various combinations of guitar, bass, drums, and vocals. The PlayStation 3 version was also available in bundled editions that included instrument controllers alongside the game.
