Rock Band 3 is a 2010 rhythm music game developed by Harmonix Music Systems, released for PlayStation 3, Wii, and Xbox 360. Players perform along to a soundtrack of 83 new songs added to the Rock Band library, using instrument peripherals to match on-screen note prompts across guitar, bass, drums, and vocals. The game introduces keyboard and keytar peripheral support for the first time in the series, expanding the range of playable instruments available to bands. As with previous entries, tracks from earlier Rock Band titles remain compatible, allowing players to build on an existing song collection. The game accommodates both solo and group play, with multiple simultaneous performers able to take on different instrument roles within the same session.
