NHL 10 is a hockey simulation developed by EA Canada and published by EA Sports, released in 2009 for PlayStation 3 and Xbox 360. The nineteenth entry in the long-running NHL series, it marked a notable shift in platform availability, becoming the first installment in the franchise to forgo a PC release and the first since NHL 2001 to omit a PlayStation 2 version. The game was first publicly showcased at Hockey Fest '09, a three-day event in downtown Los Angeles celebrating hockey and the Los Angeles Kings. Marketed under the tagline "Good Old Hockey," its promotional campaign drew on the classic Stompin' Tom Connors song "The Hockey Song." As with other entries in the series, NHL 10 centers on realistic simulation of professional ice hockey. Online services for the game were discontinued on October 1, 2011.
