Pokémon Gold Version is a role-playing game developed by Game Freak, released in 1999 for the Game Boy Color and later made available on the Nintendo 3DS. A direct sequel to Pokémon Red and Blue, it introduces 100 new Pokémon to capture and train as players work through a fresh region featuring eight new Gyms and a new Pokémon League challenge. Beyond the main story, the game includes a notably expanded post-game section that incorporates additional content carrying over from the earlier entries in the series. Alongside its counterpart Pokémon Silver, Gold builds substantially on the foundation of its predecessors, offering returning players a larger and more varied experience while maintaining the core loop of exploration, Pokémon collection, and turn-based battles that defined the franchise.
