Samurai Warriors 2 Empires is a 2006 strategy and hack-and-slash expansion to Samurai Warriors 2, developed by Omega Force and published by Koei for PlayStation 2 and Xbox 360. As the third entry in Koei's Empires series, it blends the action combat of Samurai Warriors with turn-based strategic elements drawn from Nobunaga's Ambition and Romance of the Three Kingdoms. The central Empire Mode lets players engage in some of Japan's most significant historical battles through this hybrid framework. A Create-a-Warrior mode offers 13 character models with 10 color variations each and four voice options, with a notable addition being the ability to copy movesets from existing characters. While no new characters join the broader series roster, Sasaki Kojiro and Shibata Katsuie, previously confined to non-playable bodyguard roles in the base game, become fully playable here for the first time.
