Fire Emblem: The Blazing Blade is a tactical role-playing game developed by Intelligent Systems, released in 2003 for the Game Boy Advance and later made available on Wii U. The seventh entry in the Fire Emblem series, it was the first in the franchise to receive releases in both North America and Europe. The game includes an introductory prologue sequence designed to ease new players into the series' core mechanics and turn-based combat fundamentals. Its main narrative serves as a prequel to Fire Emblem: The Binding Blade, taking place twenty years before the events of that game. Originally released in Western markets simply under the title Fire Emblem, it was later retitled Fire Emblem: The Blazing Blade following the launch of Fire Emblem Heroes. Players command armies across grid-based battlefields, managing unit positioning, weapon matchups, and character development across the campaign.
