Fire Emblem Fates: Birthright is a turn-based tactical RPG developed by Nintendo SPD, released in 2015 for the Nintendo 3DS. It is one of two base story paths in Fire Emblem Fates, the other being Conquest, with a third path, Revelation, available as later DLC. The alternate base story can be purchased at a discount through the in-game store, and completing Chapter 6 in either version unlocks access to the other paths and additional content. Birthright is considered the more accessible of the two base routes, offering scouting missions that allow players to grind for experience and currency between battles, alongside comparatively straightforward mission objectives. The broader Fates structure encourages players to engage with multiple paths to experience the full narrative, though each route functions as a standalone entry point into the conflict at the story's center.
