Fire Emblem: Radiant Dawn is a turn-based tactical RPG developed by Nintendo SPD Production Group No. 2 and released for the Wii in 2007. A direct sequel to Fire Emblem: Path of Radiance for the Nintendo GameCube, it takes place three years after the events of that game. Built on an upgraded version of Path of Radiance's engine, the two titles share a visually similar aesthetic. Players who completed the predecessor can transfer save data into Radiant Dawn, though only files completed on Normal or Hard difficulty are compatible — a bug causes the Wii to freeze if an Easy mode save is present on the GameCube memory card. The game introduces new magic types, additional class upgrade options, expanded weaponry, and a reworked forging system, refining and extending the strategic mechanics established in its predecessor.
"Three years after the Mad King's War, the events of Path of Radiance. Daein, the war's instigator, and the victorious nation Crimea are still in the process of rebuilding. The Daein people are oppressed by the corrupt senate and imperial army. Now, a small band of freedom fighters struggle to end the long, dark night of Daein's oppression."
