Pro Evolution Soccer 2012 is a football simulation developed and published by Konami, released in 2011 for PlayStation 3, Xbox 360, and PC. It is the eleventh entry in the long-running Pro Evolution Soccer series, known in Asia under the title World Soccer: Winning Eleven 2012. The game was produced with assistance from the Blue Sky Team. Cristiano Ronaldo, who previously appeared on the cover of PES 2008, returns as the global cover athlete, replacing Lionel Messi, who had held that position since PES 2009. Regional variations exist in the cover art: Shinji Kagawa features on the Japanese edition, while the US and Latin American release pairs Ronaldo with Santos forward Neymar. The title retains the series' focus on realistic football simulation, continuing the franchise's established approach to recreating the sport across competitive and casual play.
