World Soccer: Winning Eleven 8 International is a football simulation developed by Konami Computer Entertainment Tokyo under the direction of Shingo Takatsuka, released in 2004 for PlayStation 2, Xbox, and PC. Known in Europe as Pro Evolution Soccer 4, the game focuses on delivering a realistic on-pitch experience across international and club competitions. New free kick and penalty mechanics expand set-piece options, including an indirect free kick system that adds tactical variety. Player movement has been overhauled to more accurately reflect real-world running, off-ball positioning, and ball control, while a revised dribbling system provides greater precision in one-on-one situations. Visual fidelity has also been upgraded, with player likenesses rendered at a near-photorealistic level, making the world's top footballers individually distinguishable from one another on the pitch.
