Samurai Warriors 2 is a hack-and-slash game developed by Omega Force and released in 2006 for PlayStation 2, Xbox 360, and PC. A sequel to the original Samurai Warriors, it expands on its predecessor by introducing new playable characters and redesigning core combat mechanics. Notably, traditional ranged attacks have been replaced with two character-specific special abilities, giving each fighter a more distinct playstyle. The game retains Survival Mode from the first entry, in which a single player selects a character and battles through an endless castle gauntlet. Alongside the main experience, Samurai Warriors 2 includes a Sugoroku board game mini-game supporting up to four players simultaneously. In this mode, participants each choose a character and compete to accumulate a set amount of gold, with the target quantity adjustable through player settings.
