Metroid Prime: Trilogy is a 2009 compilation developed by Retro Studios for the Wii and later Wii U, collecting all three entries in the first-person action-adventure Metroid Prime series. Players control Samus Aran, an interplanetary bounty hunter, across three distinct campaigns. The first game sends Samus to the world of Tallon IV, where she confronts Space Pirate remnants conducting dangerous experiments. The second shifts focus to twin planets Aether and Dark Aether, whose inhabitants are locked in conflict over a shared energy source critical to both worlds' survival. The third entry centers on a sentient virus that has devastated the Galactic Federation's network, forcing Samus to confront a threat that carries a deeply personal dimension. The Wii release updated all three games to support motion controls, bringing a unified control scheme to the entire series.
