Kirby Air Riders

Kirby Air Riders is a racing and arcade title developed by Sora, released in 2025 for Nintendo Switch 2 and serving as the long-awaited follow-up to the GameCube game Kirby Air Ride. Players select a rider and machine, then compete across ground and aerial courses as well as arena battle modes. The core control system centers on a Boost Charge mechanic: machines accelerate automatically, so braking and turning are handled through the same dedicated button. Drifting around corners builds the Boost Charge Gauge, which can then be released for a burst of speed. The design balances accessibility — with automatic acceleration reducing the traditional throttle burden — against the strategic timing required to accumulate and deploy boost energy effectively during races and competitive encounters.
