Kirby: Triple Deluxe is a side-scrolling platformer developed by HAL Laboratory, released for the Nintendo 3DS in 2014. The game uses the handheld's 3D hardware to extend gameplay across two distinct planes, allowing Kirby to move between the foreground and background as well as traverse stages horizontally. A new "inhale everything" ability can be triggered in designated areas to clear obstacles from Kirby's path, complementing the series' signature mechanic of swallowing enemies to absorb their copy abilities. Each copy ability supports a range of moves tied to different button inputs. The game features an extensive assortment of collectibles scattered throughout its stages, including hidden 8-bit keychains and Sun Stones. It also integrates the 3DS StreetPass functionality to deliver bonus items to players, adding an additional layer of discovery beyond the main campaign.
