Kirby's Epic Yarn is a 2010 platformer developed by Good-Feel for the Wii and later the Wii U. After Kirby accidentally eats a Metamato belonging to the sorcerer Yin-Yarn, he is banished through a magic sock into Patch Land, a world constructed entirely from fabric. Transformed into yarn himself, Kirby loses his signature inhale ability and instead gains shape-shifting powers drawn from the Metamato. He joins forces with the local Prince Fluff, whose homeland has been torn apart by Yin-Yarn into seven separate pieces held together by magic yarn. The two work together across Patch Land's textile-themed environments to recover all seven strands and reunite the world. The story broadens as Yin-Yarn brings familiar characters King Dedede and Meta Knight under his control, eventually extending his fabric-warping scheme to Kirby's home of Dream Land. The game supports cooperative two-player play, with a second player controlling Prince Fluff alongside Kirby.
