Kirby Battle Royale is a fighting game developed by HAL Laboratory for the Nintendo 3DS, released in 2017. The central premise pits Kirby against multiple copies of himself across a variety of competitive mini-game formats, including ore-hoarding in Ore Express, a hockey-style brawl in Slam Hockey, and a boss-assault mode against Robo Bonkers, among more than ten distinct battle types. Players choose from over ten copy abilities to suit their preferred playstyle. A single-player story mode, the Cake Royale tournament, gradually reveals King Dedede's scheme while unlocking new abilities, battle types, Boost Orbs that strengthen Kirby, cosmetic headgear, and an additional playable character. Multiplayer supports up to four participants through local wireless, Download Play, or Online Ranked matches, with bouts structured as either two-on-two team contests or Free-For-All skirmishes.
