Kirby: Planet Robobot is a 2016 action-platformer developed by HAL Laboratory for the Nintendo 3DS. The game centers on Kirby defending his home world from a mechanizing alien invasion by piloting a powerful suit of armor called Robobot Armor. This mech can scan enemies to transform into specialized modes — including the new Jet Mode — granting abilities suited to combat and exploration. Kirby retains his signature ability to inhale enemies and copy their powers independently of the armor. Throughout the stages, the Robobot Armor is used to smash barriers and move heavy objects that would otherwise be impassable. Alongside the main campaign, the game includes Team Kirby Clash, a cooperative multiplayer mode for up to four players that draws on RPG conventions, allowing participants to select distinct roles and gain experience as they battle enemies together.
