Kirby and the Rainbow Curse is a 2015 platform-adventure game developed by Nintendo SPD for the Wii U, built around the console's GamePad touchscreen. The game world is rendered in a hand-sculpted clay aesthetic, and the core mechanic involves drawing rainbow-colored clay ropes on the touchscreen to guide Kirby's movement, while tapping him directly triggers attacks or allows him to break through obstacles. Rather than controlling Kirby with traditional inputs, players shape his path entirely through these drawn lines. Throughout the game, Kirby can transform into a submarine, a rocket, and a tank, each suited to different level types. Underwater stages see him wearing a swim mask, and a visual indicator — a clay bandage on his head — appears when his power level runs low.
