Developed by Sora and released in 2008 for the Wii, Super Smash Bros. Brawl is the third entry in Nintendo's crossover fighting series. Players battle across platform-style arenas, accumulating damage percentages to knock opponents off-stage — the core mechanic carried over from previous entries, along with stocks and the full suite of Smash-style attacks. New to this installment are Final Smashes, powerful finishing moves unique to each fighter. The game also introduces The Subspace Emissary, a dedicated single-player adventure mode that unfolds as a side-scrolling platformer with its own story and stages, marking a significant expansion of the series' solo content beyond what was offered in its predecessor, Super Smash Bros. Melee.
